IVD - Decision Making
Becomes involved in schoolwide decision making, and takes an active role in school improvement planning.
OVERVIEW:
School-wide decision-making has been key for me this year, both as a member of the NEASC standard-writing committee and as a graduate student in School Leadership. Both have allowed me to view the school community through a wide-angle lens and gain the perspective of an administrator and decision-maker.

EVIDENCE:
As a requirement for my MA certification for School Administration, I was tasked with researching, drafting, presenting, and gathering feedback for a school-wide action plan to address a specific area of academic need with a specific target student subgroup. To the right is the file for that action plan. |

[**MODELING NOTE: I presented this school action plan to both my graduate class and the school's acting principal.]
EVIDENCE:
As Coordinator for the Summer ELA Academy, I was tasked with designing the schedule model for the program, its curriculum, scheduling interviews for potential staff, conducting those interviews (with the building principal), and making hiring decisions. To the RIGHT is a page from my proposal presentation, which I made to the Principal and district Curriculum Coordinator. |
